That day, somebody asked a very difficult question -- "Are Elijah and Evan didi identical twins?"Woah, except for the fact that they are just 16 minutes apart at birth, I really don't know... so it seems like I have to do some reading to understand this. And so I found out...Twins - identical and fraternalThere are two types of twins - identical and fraternal.
To form identical twins, one fertilised egg (ovum) splits and develops two babies with exactly the same genetic information. This differs from fraternal twins, where two eggs (ova) are fertilised by two sperm and produce two genetically unique children, who are no more alike than individual siblings born at different times.
Twins are slightly more likely to be female than male (50.3 per cent)
(I have 2 brothers instead of sisters leh.... That means they form the 49.7% of twins in this world)The factors that increase the odds include:
Advancing age of the mother - women in their 30s and 40s have higher levels of the sex hormone oestrogen than younger women, which means their ovaries are stimulated to produce more than one egg at a time.
(My mommy is only 28 years old when she gave birth to them leh)Number of previous pregnancies - the greater the number of pregnancies a woman has already had, the higher her odds of conceiving twins.
(They are the 2nd delivery of my mommy leh..)Heredity - a woman is more likely to conceive fraternal twins if she is a fraternal twin, has already had fraternal twins, or has siblings who are fraternal twins.
(Wah, my mommy is not a twin of anyone leh, except for the fact that someone commented that she looks like a young Teresa Teng)Race - Black African women have the highest incidence of twins, while Asian women have the lowest.
(My mommy and daddy are ASIAN chinese leh, waahahha)Assisted reproductive techniques - many procedures rely on stimulating the ovaries with fertility drugs to produce eggs and, often, several eggs are released per ovulation.
(Mommy didn't have this leh)Ok, so my conclusion is that my twin brothers are a gift from God! (Check us out!)
(A closer look now!)

Way cool...
